Cookie Policy

A clear guide to the storage and measurement used on the Routey website—and how to control it.

Last updated: 20 July 2026

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how Routey uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit routeyapp.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is handled more broadly.

We use the word “cookies” as a convenient shorthand for cookies and similar technologies that store information on, or read information from, your device. The same consent principles can apply to local storage and other device identifiers even when no traditional browser cookie is created.

Optional

Routey does not use social-media tracking pixels or session replay. PostHog is loaded only after you enable Analytics. The Google tag is loaded only after you enable Advertising measurement; it is used for purchase conversion measurement, not remarketing or personalized advertising.

3. Essential storage

routey_cookie_consent_v1 is a first-party local-storage entry containing your optional analytics and advertising-measurement choices and the time those choices were recorded. It is needed to remember your choices and avoid repeatedly showing the consent request. It does not identify you or track your activity.

We keep the consent record for up to 12 months, after which we ask you to confirm your choice again. Clearing site data removes it sooner.

If you clear site data, use a private browsing window, or block local storage, the consent question may appear again. The website remains usable when optional analytics is rejected or unavailable.

4. Optional PostHog analytics

If you consent, we use the EU-hosted PostHog JavaScript SDK to collect limited product analytics. This may include page views, approximate technical context supplied by the SDK, and the explicit Routey events listed in our analytics implementation, such as tour views, checkout starts, and app-store clicks. We use this information to understand aggregate demand, improve the site, and diagnose the purchase journey.

Analytics is configured with autocapture, session replay, and performance capture disabled. We do not ask PostHog to identify you by name or email through this website. PostHog may use first-party local storage after consent to retain an analytics identifier; it is not initialized before consent.

The legal basis for optional analytics is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time. When you withdraw it, Routey stops sending analytics events, opts the PostHog client out, clears its pending analytics hand-off, and removes the current PostHog persistence where the browser permits. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Optional Google Ads measurement

If you consent, Routey loads the Google tag to measure completed website purchases from Google Search campaigns. The conversion includes the verified purchase value, currency, and a transaction identifier. Payment card details are never sent to Google Ads, and Routey does not enable remarketing or personalized advertising through this tag.

The legal basis for this optional measurement is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time using Cookie settings. New Google Ads measurement is then blocked, and Routey removes Google Ads first-party cookies and legacy conversion markers where the browser permits. A conversion already sent cannot be recalled from Google’s systems.

6. Third-party content and links

Some pages can request resources from third parties, such as Google Fonts or an embedded Google Map on a tour page. Those providers may process technical request data under their own policies. Optional PostHog analytics is separate from those requests. Before launch, review whether each third-party resource is necessary and whether it should be self-hosted or consent-gated for the countries you serve.

7. Your choices and rights

You can reject optional analytics and advertising measurement without losing access to Routey. You can change your decision using the “Cookie settings” control in the footer or by using the contact below. You may also control storage through your browser settings, although doing so can reset preferences or affect site functionality.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data-protection law, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and the right to withdraw consent. See our Privacy Policy or contact us for details.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site, analytics configuration, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed. If a change materially affects your choices, we will request consent again where appropriate.
