Frequently Asked Questions
How does Routey work?
Routey is a mobile application that offers self-guided interactive tours. You download the app, purchase a tour, and follow the GPS-guided map to discover hidden gems and solve puzzles along the way.
Do I need an internet connection during the tour?
While you can use Routey offline after starting the tour, it is recommended you stay online — Routey relies on Google or Apple Maps for turn-by-turn navigation, which requires a data connection.
How long do the tours take?
Driving tours take around 2.5 hours to drive and usually about and hour and half longer to complete the tasks and explore a little.
Can I pause and resume a tour?
Yes! Routey saves your progress automatically. If you'd like to stop for food or a drink, you can do so and pick up exactly where you left off. You have 24 hours to complete a tour from the moment you start it. Just make sure you do not uninstall the app.
How does the 24-hour access work?
After purchasing a tour, you will receive a code that you use to unlock the tour in the app. The code itself does not expire — you can wait as long as you like before starting. Once you start the tour, you have 24 hours to complete it.
Is the app suitable for children?
Yes. The riddles and puzzles are designed to be solvable by anyone who can read — children as young as 8 typically manage independently, while younger kids enjoy the experience as a family activity. Walking tours in particular are great for families who can cover 3–5 km.
Can multiple people share one tour purchase?
Yes. One purchase covers your whole group — there is no per-person fee. Enter the access code on one device and explore together.
What if I have a problem during the tour?
Email us at info@routeyapp.com and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible. For urgent issues mid-tour, the app works fully offline so connectivity problems won't block your progress.
